BAKANTE… ‘WAG MUNANG UPUAN.

Humiling ng magandang senyales.  Sipatin at alamin. Intindihin.

May panahon pa.

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT.

SIGAYAN BAY BEACH RESORT, BATANGAS

We reached Sigayan Bay Beach Resort at past 9am.  As soon as we’re in our cottage, we set the table to eat first before we hit the beach.  For awhile I forget that I am on a diet. Daming food. 🙂  I loved the humba which I thought at first is pork adobo with a twist. 🙂  For dessert, I liked the Ginataang Cassava. Just right for me, I am not a fan of sweets and desserts, but I loved it. (nag-take home pa nga ko nun. :p )

Then I had my real first time with lambanog. Just pure lambanog with raisins and hhmm..water for chaser. 🙂 But it was good.

HUMBA...looks like adobo? yes, only yummier. :)

It’s been years since I get to swim in Batangas waters. My last experience was in Anilao which I did not enjoyed because of the sharp rocks and uneven under water sands. Medyo nakakatakot for someone like me who doesn’t know how to swim then. 🙂

I love the San Juan Batangas beach. It’s cool, ang sarap magbabad. One thing is, malayo kana mababaw pa rin. Pantay yung tinatapakan mong sands at wala masyadong bato.  Di nakakatakot. The water may not look so clear at times, but maybe because  kapag nabubulabog lang yung buhangin parang lumalabo yung tubig.  Maliit lang yung Sigayan, which is somehow good kse di crowded.

Malinis yung beach, wala kang makikitang basura unlike with other beaches na may nagkakalat talaga.
Siguro iniisip nila that the waves would just wash it away from the shore or the dogs would clean it after them.
Entrance at Sigayan is Php 75.00 for adults. Thelma got a discount with the kids. Free entrance na sila. We brought food and drinks to the resort with no corkage.  Cottage is at Php 1,500.00 only for day (and for overnite too).  It has a bed and a wall fan and outlets to charge your celphones and batteries. No more extra charge for that. Cool 🙂 For day swimming, I think the cottage can accomodate 10-15 pax the maximum.  Each cottage has a griller. You can buy fish and  squids from the vendors roaming around. There’s a sari-sari store in the resort.  You can buy your uling and toyo there if you forget to bring your own.  The resort has ample shower rooms and toilets, which is good.
We need to leave na and miss the sunset, kaya sa daan pauwi nalang namin siya na-capture.

ROAD TRIP TO SAN JUAN, BATANGAS

Last week I went swimming in San Juan, Batangas with Thelma and her family.

I met Thelma in my first ‘real job’ way back mid 90’s in Quezon City. We hardly see each other now, but often times we text and spend long hours on the phone (paumagahan pa nga madalas).

she has the habit of drinking hot water.. ewww.. :)

Minsan nga napapansin namin nagbobolahan lang kaming dalawa. hehe.. sa paminsan-minsang kwentuhan, we never fail to tea up or even criticize each other. Walang utuan o lalong walang pikunan. Just honest opinions. Whether good or bad, sabihin mo ‘yan.

I suddenly don’t feel well pagkauwi ko mula sa lakad ko kung saan-saan that day. Parang tinatamad na nga ako.

As agreed, I should be there by 11pm but I made it finally past 1:30 am na ata. I have not packed a single item in my bag, so madalian nalang. I wished that by 12mn nasa Monumento na ‘ko. Kaso traffic nga from Muñoz dahil sa banggaan, kaya naging wish nalang yun 🙂

Minsan parang ayoko na munang lumabas at magbyahe. Napapraning pa din ako from my experience last week sa Roxas Blvd. But I know, I need to go thru these. So cge lang.

I waited at 711 across MCU. Since sobrang late ko na, I thought of walking my way to their home nalang instead of asking to be fetched. But the fruit vendor warned me that I might get ‘holdap’, kaya ‘wag nalang..hehe.. Bigla humaba tuloy ang patience ko and just texted her. Dumating naman siya with Jeje in a few minutes. 🙂

We went off Caloocan a little past 4am Sunday with a hope that we’ll be in Batangas by 7 am or 8 am the latest. But as usual, kahit madaling araw traffic pa din. Kaya naman pala may banggaan sa SLEX. But after we passed that, mabilis nalang.

OUR LITTLE BUNDLE OF JOY

Created on  April 01 ’09 Wednesday

ang likot.. hehe..

My niece Ishka (as I fondly call her ) is 1 year, 7 months and 14 days today to be exact. Been missing her for weeks since Valentine’s Day when she showed me then her imitating the Coke Mag-Smile commercial and Lactum Triangle. Nakaka-aliw talaga.

Obvious ba na pamangkin ko siya? Adik din sa TV eh. 🙂

She can speak a few words already. Though not totally straight and clear, but understandable naman. I think she’ll learn to speak early and will skip baby talking. Ngayon pa lang ang daldal na. She’s been imitating intonations and is amused of the english language. (nyay..).

Talk to her in English, and she’ll blab words as if responding in English too..hehe. Of course, like any toddler, she knows  No and Yes already.

So here’s Ishka’s baby vocabulary words :

1. Wiwing (swimming) – and she will act it out, moving her arms and feet. She has a mini kiddie pool at home, maybe that’s why she knows about swimming.

2. Upo or sit (yes, either she’ll understand). Ayaw niya ng may nakatayo.  Kapag may nakita siyang nakatayo, she’ll motion you to sit down. And you better indulge her, otherwise di ka niya titigilan. 🙂

She knows how to sit properly too. Legs crossed. Like a little lady. 🙂

cyempre bata siya, minsan nakakalimutan. just remind her and she'll do as told

3. Higa ( as in lay down ). Naku, sana wag siyang masyadong maging ‘tamad’ katulad ko. 🙂

nuod tv..pahiga-higa..hehe..

at matutulog siyang mag-isa..keber..:)

4. Gatas or milk (again, either she understands and asks for it when she wants it).  Try tease her by  ignoring her, dun lang siya maiiyak ( not the palahaw-like ha, never pa siya nagwalang parang brat. She’lll get the milk and bottle  (as if she can independently fix her own milk).
She eats rice already. Loves biscuits. She can manage to eat all by  herself and with less mess. When she’s done with her bottle, she’ll give it to you. (unlike other kids who would throw it away) And by the way, if you forget to cover it, she’ll look for the cap and cover it herself. 🙂

She was 1 year old and 3 months when I video taped her drinking from a glass (shot glass namin..hehe..).
5.  Anyong (Ninong).  Her Tito Ninong Mikkey.

Things she loves :
1.  BOOKS.   Her newest book is from her Mamu (my Tita), a first-must read Baby Bible  she bought from MV Doulous Ship
033109-family-jams-2-027
2. BAGS. She’ll get the bag, hang it on her shoulder and waves as if she’s leaving to go somewhere else. Naoobserve nya ata sa amin. hehe..

Ma, uwi na po tayo...

3. SINGING AND DANCING. She’ll hum and would make her way to get the mic. ( she can already refer to microphone as ‘mik’.. haha.. and sings  ‘Away’ — (You’re always a day aaa–way….) everytime we do videoke or she sees the mik este mic pala…:)
033109-family-jams-2-060

4. WRITE / DRAW. I still keep her first scribbles when she was 7 months old. 🙂  Now she can draw small and big circles. (in the air and also on paper). She’ll attempt to trace her hand too. Ang cute niyang humawak ng pen oh…  Check this out.
5. COMPUTERS. She’ll ask you to turn on the computer if its off.  Di pa niya nadidiscover how to turn it on (unlike with the TV, she knows already how to use the remote control and switch channels).

My sister is seven months on the family way. To date, new baby boy will be named John Benedict.

Tita, ubusin mo muna ang lunch mo before ka mag-computer. Ako muna po ha. :)

My list  seems to be endless.  I’d like to save it and relate it here some other time.

Ooopss, let me add one more. — She loves to amuse us and give us her sweetest, contagious and happy smile. Priceless, isn’t it?

PRICELESS....

PRICELESS....

Here’s a song that she really loves.  (from the Musical, ANNIE, though her fave is the version from grown-up/mother, Lea’s TV commercial since she’s barely a year old. )

TOMORROW by Lea Salonga

The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There’ll be sun!

Just thinkin’ about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
‘Til there’s none!

When I’m stuck a day
That’s gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!

The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
‘Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always
A day
A
way!
